The Mont Vernon Heritage Commission finalized logistics for its Spring Gala and set a schedule for raffle sales during a special meeting on May 27, 2026. Chair Becci Schwarz called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
The gala is set for Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Commission members agreed to set up booths Friday evening and meet at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to assemble the T-shirt booth and the Summer Fun Raffle booth. Available commission members will walk in the parade as planned.
The commission decided to use dry T-shirts that will be displayed on a clothesline strung between the legs of the large booth; a tarp will be hung behind the shirts to contain splatter from squirt guns. Secretary Linda Harrop said she would supply a few drop cloths to protect merchandise.
Vice Chair Brian Billow was assigned to obtain $200 in small bills from the bank and reported he has access to a credit-card reader to accept electronic payments at the booth.
Raffle sales will begin at the Spring Gala and continue on three Saturdays: June 6, June 13 and June 20. Sales are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Transfer Station and the General Store. The winning ticket will be drawn on June 21. Volunteers confirmed for June 6 are Becci Schwarz, Linda Harrop, Brian Billow and Mike Cardoza; the commission will schedule volunteers for the remaining dates at its next meeting.
Secretary Linda Harrop moved to adjourn at 8:03 p.m.; Chair Becci Schwarz seconded and the meeting was recorded as adjourned. The minutes list 2026 action items for the commission: fundraising, electrical and fire-suppression work, public sessions and structural bidding/selection and initiation of work. The minutes were respectfully submitted by Secretary Linda Harrop and dated May 28, 2026.
