Charlestown EAC to staff table at semiquincentennial, approves minutes and pauses WeConservePA renewal

At its June 8 meeting the Charlestown EAC approved the May minutes, planned outreach at the July 18 semiquincentennial and the Oct. 17 Fall Fest, and decided not to renew WeConservePA membership for 2026 while tabling several web- and signage-related items until August.
The Charlestown Township Environmental Advisory Committee on June 8 approved its May minutes and reviewed several community-outreach and administrative items. Chair Carol Armstrong opened the meeting and the minutes record attendees including Secretary Meg Solomon and Vice-Chair Dan Walker.
The EAC agreed to staff a table and potentially lead a guided walk at the Charles Towne Market semiquincentennial celebration on July 18 (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) to focus on conservation. Armstrong, Dan Walker, Jill Green and Faith Talnack were listed as attending; materials noted for the table include Bird Town information, environmental cards from Pete Goodman, surveys, a banner, and photography by Talnack.
Members also discussed upcoming community events and communications: Fall Fest (formerly Charlestown Day) is scheduled for Oct. 17 (11 a.m.–3 p.m.) and the EAC will develop activities for children and migratory bird day in partnership discussions with the Phoenixville Green Team. The committee decided not to renew its WeConservePA membership for the current calendar year and will reassess renewal for 2027; members noted the renewal should be included in next year’s budget planning. Review and revision of the EAC webpage on the township site was postponed until August.
The minutes record outreach tasks assigned (newsletter articles, table handouts, counting and reviewing a community education survey) but do not show formal votes or funding allocations for these activities. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
