Downtown banners, Garden Club fundraiser, story-walk and Junction Jog announced

Union Point leaders reported a string of upcoming community events and downtown improvements at the July 8 council meeting.
Mayor Lanier Rhodes said new downtown banners have been received and are scheduled for installation before the end of July; DDA Chair Jill Rhodes was unable to attend. Sherley Selman and Jan Brazier of the Garden Club said the organization will hold a fundraiser on July 19 to raise funds for upgrades to the Community Center. The Junction Jog is scheduled for Sept. 27, with more details to come.
Tara Coile of the Greene County Library told the clerk that story-walk panels had arrived and volunteers plan to install them the week of Aug. 18; she will meet with city representatives to confirm locations and finalize details.
