The Middletown Planning & Zoning Commission on Oct. 8 granted a 90‑day extension for the filing of a subdivision map for the redevelopment at 5 Saint John Square and adopted the commission's 2026 meeting calendar.
Shannon Healy, the project manager for the redevelopment, told the commission the project's attorneys are finalizing easement and condition language and asked for more time to complete the record. "The attorneys are working on it. They're going through the easements and the conditions, and once they iron that out, we will send [the] town staff for their review," Healy said.
Mark Kazakowski, the city's director of land use, advised that the commission may grant up to two 90‑day extensions for subdivision approvals and that all conditions would carry forward. Staff stated that a granted extension would set a new deadline for recording the map on the land records of March 2, 2026. The commission voted unanimously to grant the 90‑day extension.
Commissioners then discussed the 2026 calendar; members noted potential conflicts with early voting dates and agreed to keep the calendar on file with the option to cancel or move meetings as needed. The calendar was adopted by unanimous vote.
