Commission awards tractor and bush-hog bid to Shaker Equipment Sales for $84,000

Daryl, speaking for Public Works, said the John Deere package totaled $119,417.56 while Shaker Equipment's McCormick package totaled $84,000. "Based on our bid evaluation, we recommend the city to award bid ... to Shaker Equipment Sales," he said. The item was described as budgeted.
Commissioner Powell moved to award the contract and Commissioner Stewart seconded. Roll-call voting recorded Commissioner Powell "Yes," Commissioner Bush "No," Mayor Dixon "Yes," Commissioner McCrary "Yes," and Commissioner Stewart "Yes." The motion passed, 4–1.
The commission authorized the mayor to sign any documents necessary to complete the purchase. The purchase will proceed out of the budgeted public‑works equipment line.
