The Juneau Recreation Committee approved posted summer availability hours for the Recreation & Program Coordinator at its May 20, 2026 meeting at the Juneau Community Center. The schedule was set to match city hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The motion to approve was made by member Nehls-Rennhack and seconded by Wendy Jo Smedema; the motion carried.
The committee reported that a candidate for a summer assistant position had been interviewed, offered the job and accepted; paperwork is underway and a tentative start date of June 8 was given. The Recreation & Program Coordinator provided an overview of recent activities and upcoming programming, including tennis, T-ball, Picnic in the Park, and summer programming. A community blood drive with the American Red Cross was announced; donors are to receive a T-shirt.
Committee members also noted recent community support: Chef Chanse sponsored a soccer field and Dollar General Waupun donated painting supplies for recreation activities. The committee set its next meeting for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
