During its Feb. 4 meeting the Manasquan Board of Education reviewed finance and facilities items, including a 2025–26 budget update, construction work scheduled over the winter break and large contractor pay applications.
Dr. Pete Crawley, the Business Administrator/Board Secretary, provided the budget update on behalf of the Ad Hoc Finance Committee and certified that no line item had been over-expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(c)3, stating sufficient funds were available to meet district obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. The board recorded this certification in the minutes.
Mr. Jesse Place briefed the board on changes to online payment fees through the PaySchools system. The board also received a construction update from Dr. Crawley outlining work planned during winter break.
On the consent agenda the board accepted Pay Application #6 from H&S Construction for $371,273.00 and Pay Application #7 for $546,905.59 for Manasquan High School and Elementary School renovation and repair work. The two pay applications together total $918,178.59 and were documented as Documents H and I in the meeting materials.
Other finance items approved or presented included acceptance of financial reports for December 2024, approval of purchase orders for January 2025, cafeteria reports, and the recommended purchase of a SendPro MailCenter 2000 for $8,800.89 via NJ State Contract #T0200. The Business Administrator’s Secretary’s Financial & Investment Report and Treasurer’s Report for the month ending Dec. 31, 2024 were accepted and are on file in the Business Office.
Board members voted on the consent items by roll call during the Regular Public Meeting portion; the minutes list the roll-call tallies and the supporting documents that are filed with the Board Office.
