Manasquan Board honors students and teachers, reviews spring test results and HIB report
Summary
At its Oct. 15 meeting the Manasquan Board presented student and teacher awards, heard Spring 2024 NJSLA and DLM results and received a counseling update; the board accepted the Superintendent’s Report and noted one confirmed HIB at the high school and two non-HIB incidents at the elementary school.
The Manasquan Board of Education recognized students and staff and reviewed spring assessment and counseling reports at its Oct. 15 meeting at Manasquan High School.
Mr. Goodall introduced the Manasquan High School Students of the Month — Freshman Briana Garcia, Sophomore Christopher Martucci, Junior Francesca Tienken and Senior Donovan Brown — and presented Certificates of Commendation, personalized medals and Wally Bucks. He also presented High School Teacher of the Month Brett Lomas and Elementary Teacher of the Month Andrea Trischitta, and Elementary Student of the Month Crystal Weng.
Rick Coppola, the district’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction, provided an overview of the Spring 2024 NJSLA results; the board noted that Coppola’s presentation is on file in the Board Office and included with the minutes. Cindy Cimino, Director of Special Services, reported Spring 2024 DLM results and updated the board on Special Education matters; Lesley Kenney, Director of School Counseling Services, summarized counseling operations across the elementary school, high school and the Academy/CLI program. Presentations from all three directors were filed with the minutes.
Mr. Goodall also presented the monthly HIB report: the high school had one confirmed HIB incident, and the elementary school had two incidents that were determined not to be HIB. Following the reports, the board voted to approve and accept the Superintendent’s Report. The motion to accept the report was made by Bruce Bolderman and seconded by Alfred Sorino; roll call recorded Ayes 9, Nays 0, Abstain 0, Absent 3 (Bossone, Loffredo, Milancewich).
