The Winter Harbor Selectmen approved several routine financial measures and signed the town’s tax commitment during their Aug. 25 meeting at the Town Office.
G. Harrington called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the board voted to approve the Selectmen meeting minutes of Aug. 11, 2025, as well as Warrants #8 (Aug. 19) and #9 (Aug. 22). The Treasurer’s Report dated Aug. 22, 2025, and the Tax Collector’s Report dated Aug. 22, 2025, were each accepted; all those approvals were recorded as 'Approved 2-0.'
The meeting record lists the town’s account balance in the Trio-General Ledger as $593,409.23 (as of 8/22/2025) and a six-month certificate of deposit at $105,382.87. Investment — bonds were reported at $3,499,504.31 (5/31/2025) and $3,522,980.90 (6/30/2025); the minutes include a general note that investment accounts are shown at market value.
Tax receivables were itemized in the minutes: FY25 receivables $29,160.88 with 98.82% collected and FY24 receivables $3,712.75 with 99.82% collected. The board approved and signed the town’s tax commitment (recorded as 'Approved and Signed 2-0').
Payroll (Town P/R #8) was recorded at $15,896.32 and accounts payable (Town A/P #9) at $49,217.06, for a combined total of $65,113.38 noted in the minutes.
The approvals were routine votes recorded in the minutes; the record does not list mover/second names. The Selectmen also received informational items including Schoodic EMS reports and a letter from MMA Risk Management.
