Beyond the budget, Brownfield plan and compensation changes, the board approved a range of routine but consequential administrative matters on Dec. 11.
Appointments and committees: The board approved Resolution #24-12-11 confirming the chair’s recommendations for appointments to multiple county advisory boards, including Central Dispatch, CCAB, Construction Board of Appeals, Health Board, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Sanitary Board of Appeals and the Veteran Affairs Committee. The resolution lists appointees and terms by board.
Renewals and purchases: The board authorized an annual renewal with ZixArchive not to exceed $10,308 and approved purchase of two elevator circuit boards (not to exceed $6,904 each) and a $4,999 trailer for the sheriff’s department. The board also approved the purchase of an excavator (described in a separate action).
Health department contracts and programs: The board approved a contract with ALZY Environmental Services, LLC for registered sanitarian services at $41 per hour (avg. 24 hrs/week) for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025, and a contract with Dr. Dennis Chernin for Medical Director services at $41,280 for 2025. The board also approved replacement of two Grade 10 social worker positions for the Durand and Perry School Wellness Programs and authorized a grant application for Marijuana Education and Outreach not to exceed $26,226 (motion passed 6–1).
Process and closing: Several committee minutes were approved and Chairman Brodeur delivered a brief report, acknowledged departing commissioners, and presided over the swearing-in of the 2025 Board by County Clerk Caroline Wilson. The meeting adjourned at 5:49 p.m.
