Residents told the Hamlin Town Board they are concerned about frequent speeding and late-night motorcycle activity on 1618 Lake Road and nearby streets that endangers children. One resident asked the sheriff’s office for more enforcement and suggested installing radar speed-display signs like those used in nearby towns.
The chair said the sheriff has been called to the area many times and that an extra patrol car has been assigned intermittently; the board agreed to contact the county highway superintendent to explore installing a solar-powered speed-display sign.
In other business, the board agreed to schedule a public hearing on the town’s proposed 2026 solar law for July 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall; the clerk will publish the notice and finalize the text for public review.
