Bethel Park's police dispatch operations transitioned to Allegheny County 911 at 8 a.m. on July 13, and the move proceeded without service interruptions, Police Chief Arnold reported at that evening's municipal meeting.
"This morning at 8AM, the police dispatch center switched to Allegheny County 911," Chief Arnold said. "I'm pleased to report that the transition has been smooth and there's, has been no service interruptions." He also reminded residents to call 911 in emergencies and highlighted safety and community outreach events.
At the same meeting the council accepted a memorandum of understanding with Teamsters 205 concerning the elimination of municipal dispatch operations and severance provisions for existing employees. Councilmember Garris moved to accept the MOU and Councilmember Oakes seconded; the motion passed 9–0 on roll call. The council did not discuss severance details in the public meeting record.
The two items together indicate the operational shift of dispatch services from a borough-run center to the county 911 system and a labor agreement to address the resulting staff changes. The MOU was accepted as presented; no implementation timetable or specific severance amounts were provided during the meeting.
