Council approves RISE grant application to pave Delaware Street extension

Norwalk ' On July 16 the Norwalk City Council approved a resolution endorsing a RISE (Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy) grant application to pave approximately one mile of Delaware Street west of the Michael Foods area.
Holly, a staff member overseeing engineering and grants, summarized the project and explained Snyder Engineering is preparing the application; Tractors (the local company in the industrial area) has agreed to cover half the project cost, with the RISE grant intended to fund the other half. Holly described the combination of grants and local match as a routine approach the city has used for prior paving projects.
Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by roll call.
