CRA Executive Director Elizée Michel reported staff activity and neighborhood operations updates at the May 11 meeting. Michel said lights in the Florida Mango area are being repaired, Seminole streetlight work has not yet started, and staff will check county progress on Cherry Road. Michel also said the CRA, with legal assistance, purchased two properties at 2647 Hiawatha Avenue and 3763 Saginaw Avenue and that the CRA received a $2,072 check from the Rooney 5K.
Denise Pennell, CRA director of planning and development, said WPBgo kickoff activities will occur this month and that the redevelopment plan update is progressing; additional community meetings will be scheduled. Mai Bui, redevelopment specialist/administrative assistant, announced the Housing Heroes Luncheon on May 13 at the Cohen Pavilion, Summer Fun at the Park on June 12 and the monthly food distribution on May 15.
There was no attorney’s report. Joanne Rufty moved to adjourn; Teliska Wolliston seconded and the meeting was adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
