The Westgate/Belvedere Homes CRA board on May 11 unanimously approved a budget amendment increasing the balance brought forward for fiscal year 2026 from $1,500,000 to $4,371,232 to reflect unspent Trust Fund balances from the prior fiscal year.
Elizée Michel, the CRA executive director, presented the amendment and said the additional $2,871,232 represents funds set aside for property acquisition, housing and economic development that were not spent by the end of the last fiscal year. The board approved reallocating those unspent dollars to housing, economic development and innovative policing line items.
The motion to approve the budget amendment was moved by Ruth Haggerty and seconded by Joanne Rufty; the vote was unanimous (5-0). The amendment increases the CRA’s available balance for planned acquisitions and programs; staff did not identify any immediate supplemental projects to consume the full amount at the meeting.
