She said the district will shift the Student Representative application timeline so it begins after spring break in the coming year and that she is meeting with current student representatives to review and improve their involvement at Board meetings.
Perkowski said she and GHAPS administrators have met with Dr. Selmon, president of Muskegon Community College, since December to discuss short‑ and long‑term strategic goals and to explore ways to align opportunities for students and community members. She added that GHAPS is researching the skills local employers seek from graduates and noted that staff member Evink recently hosted area manufacturers to discuss possible work‑based school programs.
These partnership and outreach efforts were presented as ongoing staff work; the committee received the update and no formal motions were recorded in the committee minutes.
