Town officials told the Campobello Town Council on June 8 that sewer infrastructure planning is advancing and that they will invite consulting firm Covalen to present detailed options at the next council meeting.
Mayor Aaron Ash and Council Member Joe McDowell reported a productive meeting with Covalen, during which one company owner outlined an alternative that may offer lower costs than options previously considered. Officials emphasized that further research and analysis are needed before the council makes a formal recommendation.
Council members asked staff to continue discussions with potential partners, including the City of Inman and Spartanburg Water, and to meet with Spartanburg School District One representatives (including Jason McGraw) to explore possible support or participation in a preferred alternative. Town staff said they expect to schedule a public hearing on sewer service options as early as August, with additional hearings possible.
No decisions were made at the June 8 meeting; the council directed staff to bring Covalen in to present details and answer questions so members can compare alternatives before moving toward selection or formal agreements.
