Campobello council approves ADU ordinance, event and park expenditures in unanimous votes

The Campobello Town Council on June 8 unanimously approved several routine and policy measures, including the second reading and adoption of an ordinance to add accessory dwelling units (ADUs) to the town zoning code.
Council Member Reitha Stevenson moved to approve Ordinance No. 2026‑2, which amends zoning definitions and conditional-use sections to include ADUs; Council Member Joe McDowell seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Council did not pose questions during the second reading.
Also during the meeting Council approved routine minutes from the May 11 work session and regular meeting on a motion by Council Member Joe McDowell, seconded by Council Member Reitha Stevenson.
The council voted to allocate $300 from the hospitality budget for National Night Out prize gift cards, a motion moved by Stevenson and seconded by McDowell that passed unanimously. Council also authorized up to $1,000 to purchase rubber mulch and related materials for Gosnell Park beautification on a motion by Council Member Lance Kaminer, seconded by McDowell; that motion likewise passed unanimously.
Meeting motions to adjourn both the work session and the regular meeting were made and carried unanimously.
The council did not record dissenting votes on any of the motions taken at the June 8 meeting, and each approved item will proceed consistent with staff implementation and the town’s budget procedures.
