The Washington County Finance Committee approved an amendment to the county’s Municipal Snow and Ice Agreement for the 2025–2026 season on July 9, adding $379,862 to the County Road Fund to cover additional state lane miles plowed and treated during an unusually severe winter.
The amendment, recorded in Resolution A, authorizes the Chairman of the Board to sign the revised agreement in a form approved by the County Attorney and directs the County Treasurer to increase both the appropriation and corresponding revenue line in the 2026 budget. The action was moved and adopted during the committee meeting.
The budget impact statement attached to the resolution states the change recognizes additional snow and ice revenue and expense in the 2026 budget; it does not change net county contribution beyond recognizing eligible state reimbursement.
County officials said the adjustment reflects actual additional work performed under the state agreement and conforms to the previously authorized 2024–2029 agreement.
