The Jackson Parish Police Jury on July 13 approved minutes from prior meetings, adopted committee reports, accepted monthly purchase orders and payment of bills, and approved a change to accepting job applications that allows applicants to leave the position line as “any position.”
The motion to adopt the June 8 regular meeting minutes and the June 29 special called meeting minutes, along with monthly purchase orders and payment of bills, was made by Lewis Chatham and seconded by Regina Rowe; the motion carried. The jury also moved to adopt the June 29 Finance Committee minutes and other committee minutes as presented.
Operations Manager Brad Roller presented the June/July operations report. Road Supervisor Jack Williams presented the June road report and noted $174.19 was spent on emergency callouts and off-schedule work; the jury voted to accept the June 2026 emergency/off-schedule reports on a motion by Regina Rowe, seconded by Keith Burris. Solid Waste Supervisor Edquado Howard presented the June Solid Waste Report.
On personnel policy, the jury approved a motion to accept applications with “any position” in the position line at any time. The meeting concluded with thanks to the public and workers in attendance and a motion by Regina Rowe, seconded by Keith Burris, to adjourn; motion carried.
