Washington County Board adopts resolutions approving contracts, grants, budgets and labor agreements

The Washington County Board of Supervisors met in regular session June 18 in Fort Edward and voted to adopt a slate of resolutions covering contracts, grant acceptances, budget amendments and collective bargaining agreements.
The board approved Resolution No. 154 authorizing the chairman to sign a contract with Albany Medical Center for morgue services; Resolution No. 155 awarding engineering services for Sewer District No. 2; and Resolution No. 156 authorizing purchase of two brine tanks via a Sourcewell contract. The resolutions were moved and seconded as reflected in the minutes and were adopted by the board.
The resolutions the board adopted also included setting a public hearing on the 2026–2027 Adirondack Community College budget (Res. 157), multiple budget amendments and grant acceptances for sheriff’s office and public health programs (Res. 160–164), creation of capital projects for Sewer District No. 2 pump stations (Res. 165), and actions related to county staffing and pay rates (Res. 158 and Res. 166). The board also authorized EFC financing documents for a process control and administration building project (Res. 170) and amended the 2025 budget for various departments (Res. 171).
Labor agreements were ratified: Resolution No. 168 ratified the agreement with Teamsters Local 294 for Public Works Highway Division employees for 2026–2028; Resolution No. 169 ratified the Washington County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (PBA) agreement for 2026–2028.
The minutes record that several roll-call votes (including Resolutions Nos. 166, 168 and 169) were recorded with 14 supervisors voting AYE and 3 absent. The board minutes also print accompanying tallies as AYES: 4,302 and ABSENT: 388; the minutes present those larger figures verbatim but do not explain them further. Where available, motions and the supervisors who moved and seconded them are noted in the record.
Earlier in the meeting the board accepted the June Audit Report on a motion by Mr. Hogan. Chairman Henke announced proclamations recognizing EMS Week and county school valedictorians and salutatorians.
