River Ridge board approves $105,000 traffic‑calming system, staff cite speeding data

River Ridge Community Development District trustees on Nov. 19 approved the purchase and installation of three permanent and one mobile 15‑inch solar‑powered digital speed radar signs with camera and messaging for a combined price of $105,000 and noted ongoing cloud subscription costs.
Shane Willis, Operations Manager, presented My AV‑Tech LLC estimates (24150 and 24151) that included $74,000 for the three remaining permanent signs, $1,500 per cloud traffic device per year and a $25,000 mobile unit option. Eric Long, PSGRC General Manager, said moving an existing unit 20 to 30 yards should be considered because “the unit clocked 800 varied speeding violations over a three week period.” Willis said poles will be purchased from Paramount Asphalt at about $1,200 each.
On motion by Bob Schultz, Chair, and seconded by Kurt Blumenthal, the board approved the AV‑Tech estimates to wire and install the three permanent and one mobile unit and carry the cloud device plan at a combined total of $105,000. The board discussed options for the homeowners association to assume ongoing cloud fees and offset those costs with covenant traffic fine revenues issued by PSGRC.
The board recorded no dissent on this item.
