River Ridge board approves gatehouse redesign and master signage work; hires consultants via Bowman

The River Ridge Community Development District on Oct. 22 approved design work for entrance gatehouses and a master signage program and authorized contracting steps to expedite the projects.
The Board authorized Bowman to retain RG Architects, P.A. as a subconsultant under Bowman’s standard terms and authorized the Chair to execute documents after review by District Counsel and the District Manager. District staff described the gatehouse work as a cosmetic "facelift," not demolition, and cited repeated low‑clearance collisions with the main gate (12 hits this year) as a driver for redesign. Staff proposed booking the $62,500 design expense as an up‑front deferred cost to be reimbursed when the CDD issues financing and noted design and permitting could take 12–18 months.
Separately, the Board approved Bowman Consulting Group’s proposal for landscape architecture services for the Pelican Sound master signage program, which includes replacing neighborhood monuments. Staff said neighborhood monument replacements are budgeted from Pelican Sound replacement reserves and confirmed some monuments will be relocated. Mr. Long will lead the gatehouse and neighborhood coordination and Mr. Blumenthal will serve as Board liaison for communications and monthly updates.
The motions to authorize RG via Bowman and to approve Bowman’s signage proposal passed unanimously.
