Lincoln County commissioners approve routine financial items, indigent cremation and set veterans event

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on June 22 approved a series of routine administrative items, authorized paperwork for an indigent cremation and heard notice of an upcoming veterans program.
The board approved minutes of the June 15, 2026 meeting and voted to receive and order filed the treasurer’s receipts. Commissioners also voted to receive and order filed a fee report submitted by the county sheriff showing $6,183.44. All procedural motions were passed by roll call vote with Commissioners Joe Hewgley, Kent Weems, Micaela Wuehler, Chris Bruns and Jerry Woodruff voting "aye." Nays: none.
During the Board of Equalization session, the board approved the Board of Equalization minutes of June 15, 2026, and approved certificates of correction or refund on personal property submitted by County Assessor Julie Stenger. Those actions were recorded as unanimous votes.
The board also approved and authorized the chair to sign necessary paperwork for the cremation of an indigent burial for Donnel G. Scott Jr. (motion by Chris Bruns, seconded by Jerry Woodruff); the motion passed unanimously.
The meeting record includes a long vendor claims list for both general and roads funds that the board approved as presented. Vendors and line items were entered into the record and the motion carried.
Tom Gann, the county Veteran Service Officer, announced a Korean War Veterans Program to be held July 10, 2026, at Mid-Plains Community College from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the lieutenant governor scheduled to attend.
The meeting adjourned at 10:29 a.m. The record notes that advance public notice of the meetings was posted and emailed on June 19, 2026, and that the agenda for the next regular meeting (June 29, 2026) will be available from the county clerk's office and the county website.
