DEQ requires ECWIS EDDs and will improve AccessDEQ notifications; labs must supply location data

Chandler, who leads ECWIS guidance for Brownfields, reminded stakeholders of the required formatting and fields for EDD submissions. Chandler said laboratory data files must include location data and that Equus/ECWIS will not accept EDDs missing location fields. “We also can’t really run reports on it without location data either, so we will be needing that,” Chandler said, and proposed workshops with labs and consultants to address the bottleneck.
Chandler said EDDs and environmental sampling data (soil, groundwater, soil gas, sub‑slab, indoor air, sediment and surface water) should be submitted through AccessDEQ (assessments or documents tab) and that submitters should notify the project manager or the ECWIS lead when an EDD is available. For sign‑and‑submit users, Chandler asked that a copy be uploaded to AccessDEQ for record‑keeping.
On AccessDEQ invoices, Jocelyn said the portal now supports e‑payment for Brownfields invoices but acknowledged a problem: original perspective developer teams are still receiving notifications on some long‑divested projects. DEQ said it will request AccessDEQ changes to redirect notifications to current site affiliates and work to fix duplicate or unnecessary emails.
DEQ announced it will add an FAQ section to ECWIS guidance pages and update links to required RBF files. Staff asked stakeholders to send specific issues through the portal help feature or directly to project managers to aid troubleshooting.
