The board approved a transfer and relocation agreement to provide a bathroom portable to California School of the Arts San Gabriel Valley (CSR/CGV); the portable will be moved to CSR’s campus and CSR will incur relocation costs. The board also approved relocating two temporary classroom portables to Maxwell Academy to create additional classroom space there.
Separately, the board approved a revised proposal from Balfour Beatty to install a new pre‑K playground at Valley View Academy. Staff explained the updated scope increased cost (one staff member estimated an additional $200,000 for changes and equipment), and explained funding sources: approximately $350,000 from child‑development funds would cover a portion of the work, with the balance coming from Measure S bond funds. District staff cautioned that licensing requirements for preschool could delay Valley View’s preschool opening until the playground is completed; they plan to notify families and make interim placement arrangements where necessary.
All of the items were approved by the board after discussion and recorded votes where appropriate.
