The superintendent described next steps, including sharing the goals with staff at an August 11 convocation and evaluating progress over time.
Board members asked about timelines and implementation. Dr. Medrano said some elements could be accomplished within a school year while others might take three to five years. After discussion, a motion to adopt the goals was moved and seconded and approved by the board.
Board members praised the focus on early reading and on strengthening partnerships and career technical education options that connect K–8 pathways with high‑school programs.
