Council appoints Angela Lawrence as town zoning administrator

The Colonial Beach Town Council approved Resolution 29-26 to rescind the prior appointment and appoint Angela Lawrence as the town zoning administrator. The town attorney explained the change; council members then moved, seconded and voted by roll call. The recorded roll-call votes were unanimous "Aye."
Town staff said Angela Lawrence has been hired as director of planning and community development and has received certification as a zoning administrator. The prior interim appointment (August 2024) will be rescinded so the certified director can serve in the role with the updated authority. "She has received her certification as a zoning administrator," the town attorney said while presenting the resolution.
Council discussed that administrator appointment is an administrative matter requiring a roll call vote, and congratulated Lawrence on her appointment. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
