"We've taken right at 1,000 tons of excess sludge out of that plant," the staff presenter said, calling the effort "a tremendous amount of sludge built up in the plant."
Staff also noted the wastewater team's expectation to bring some process tanks back online as sludge removal and repairs continue. The town manager said the next staff report will include details about a recent rain event and its operational impacts.
