North Butler Community School District board approves personnel moves, dairy contract and calendar changes

The North Butler Community School District Board of Education met July 15, 2026, in Greene and approved several routine but consequential items, including personnel actions, a food-services contract and calendar adjustments.
Board President Ty Crawford-Miller opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. and the board unanimously approved the amended agenda and minutes from June. The board then approved June financial reports and the July bill listing.
Votes at a glance: Anderson-Erickson Dairy was awarded the 2026-27 dairy contract (approved unanimously). The board approved multiple personnel actions including the termination of Travis Neve (14-passenger bus driver, due to bus route reductions) and the hiring of coaches and staff and several volunteer coaches (all motions carried unanimously). The board voted to dispose of a Ford Econoline E150 van (unanimous), to remove junior release (unanimous), to approve a senior-release point system (unanimous), to update staff personal leave to three days per year with accrual up to five days (unanimous), and to allow a one-year preschool retake at a fee of $2,048.75 if capacity allows (unanimous).
The personnel approvals listed hires and stipends: Ryan Behnke and Kelly Hoodjer for junior high football ($1,889 each; Kelly Hoodjer pending licensure); Corrine Thompson and Joe Goodrich for assistant volleyball ($5,261 each); Billie Buss for inside concessions ($2,300); Kallie Knock and Patrick Rule as associates at specified hourly rates; and Brad Metz as custodian pending a background check. The minutes also recorded volunteer confirmations for John Backer, Dawson Clark and Mike Ball.
On the calendar, the board approved two professional-development swaps for 2026-27: April 5, 2027 will be a professional-development day for elementary staff while junior high/high students attend; April 26, 2027 will be a professional-development day for junior high/high while elementary students attend.
The meeting adjourned at 8:23 p.m.; the board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in Greene.
