Mayor Eddie Norman opened multiple public hearings at the June 1 Yadkinville Board of Commissioners meeting but continued each to allow additional consideration and public participation.
The public hearing on proposed Special Appropriations for FY2026–27 — which would allocate funds to local organizations including the YMCA ($42,500), Yadkin County Economic Development Partnership ($50,000), Yadkin Arts Council ($15,000) and others — received no public comment and was continued to June 26, 2026 at 9:05 a.m. The board likewise continued the FY2026–27 budget hearing to June 26 at 9:10 a.m.
A zoning map amendment request to rezone Parcel 133494 at 205 Taylor Street from Rural Residential to Residential High Density was opened and continued to July 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The board also set hearings for July 6 for Triad Metal Recyclers: a rezoning request for parcel #129110 on Memorial Road (from Highway Business to Heavy Industrial) at 6:00 p.m., and a Major Special Use Permit (expansion to include recycling operations) at 6:05 p.m.
Officials said no members of the public signed up to speak at the June 1 session; the continuations preserve an opportunity for public comment and final action on funding allocations and land-use changes at the scheduled future meetings.
The hearings will be held in the Commissioners’ Chamber at Town Hall on the dates announced.
