Commissioner Willie, who moved the motion, praised staff work on compliance, saying staff “work with folks to make that happen.”
Commissioners also approved conditional use permit UP‑26‑0013 for heavy equipment storage at 1691 East 902 Road (Resolution No. 26‑11). Planner Eva Kerner clarified the site plan language: the existing permitted use is a detached dwelling and the resolution’s language corrects the submitted plan’s description.
On budget items, staff requested authorization to file notice with the county clerk to exceed the 2027 revenue‑neutral rate and to establish a maximum county levy of 40.286 mills. The commission approved the request and set a combined revenue‑neutral and budget hearing for Aug. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
Staff also sought authorization to submit intent for Consolidated Fire District No. 1’s proposed 2027 maximum levy of 9.883 mills and to hold that hearing the same night as the county budget hearing. Commissioners approved the request. Staff said the district plans to hire six firefighters as soon as practical, with command staff added within the first six months, subject to budget and recruitment timelines.
All votes recorded at the meeting were taken by voice; the transcript records unanimous approval on the listed motions. No formal amendments were recorded during the meeting.
