The Board authorized the Township Manager on Aug. 14 to execute the first amendment to the Agreement of Sale for the Balderston tract, adjusting the contract price to $170,000 to satisfy grant‑agency requirements.
Assistant Township Manager Catherine Ricardo explained the change: the parties had previously agreed to a purchase price of $143,373 but grant‑agency conditions require the purchase price to be increased to $170,000. Ricardo told the board that the purchase remains covered almost entirely by grants and that additional amendments may be required as the grant process proceeds.
Member Peter Fixler moved to authorize the manager to execute the amendment; Vice‑Chair Rich Orlow seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board did not record dissenting votes.
The amendment does not change the board’s stated expectation that grant funding will cover the vast majority of the purchase price. Staff said they will return if additional amendments become necessary as the grant agency finalizes its requirements.
