The East Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors opened the conditional‑use hearing for CU‑03‑2024 — an application for multifamily reuse at 370 Lancaster Avenue (the Importer/’Hibberd’ Barn historic resource) — and continued the record to Sept. 11, 2024.
Chair Scott Lambert prefaced the hearing with remarks highlighting two township historic resources, the Gunkle Mill and the Importer building, and noted the prominent mature oaks and sycamores on the property. Solicitor Bernadette Kearney opened the formal hearing at 7:05 p.m., during which township counsel and participants examined the application’s potential impacts on historic fabric and mature trees; the board kept the record open for additional materials and scheduled the continuation for Sept. 11, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
Kearney announced the hearing record would remain open without additional advertising or notices; the Board reconvened into its regular meeting at 9:45 p.m. The continuation gives the township and applicants more time to submit documentation and for interested parties to provide additional evidence or testimony.
