The council directed that the hearings be held either at the August Planning Commission meeting and the September council meeting, or at the meeting in which a variance is required, and the motion passed unanimously.
The deferral means council will consider the rezoning only after those additional public hearings. No vote on rezoning occurred at the July 2 meeting and no new public testimony was recorded in the council minutes for this session.
Council records show the property involved totals 526 acres across seven parcels near the Cochran Mill Road/South Fulton Parkway intersection; the council did not adopt any rezoning ordinance at this meeting and left the item on the docket pending the scheduled hearings.
