Brooklet council adopts zoning map amendment and approves setback variance at 404 West Lee St.

At the Jan. 15 meeting the Brooklet City Council voted unanimously to approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 2025-031, which amends and restates the city’s Official Zoning Map. The measure passed 5-0 with Councilman Brad Anderson moving and Councilwoman Sheila Wentz seconding the motion.
The council also considered Variance Application VA2025-002, filed by property owner Russell Davis for 404 West Lee Street (Parcel B03 000052 000). Davis requested a rear setback reduction from 10 feet to 5 feet and a side setback reduction from 35 feet to 25 feet to permit construction of a 15-by-20-foot (300-square-foot) storage building; he said his lot is shallower than neighboring lots and that the adjacent property owner did not object. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval and the council adopted that recommendation by a 5-0 vote (motion by Brad Anderson; second by Hubert K. Roughton).
