East Whiteland board ratifies hires, awards fuel contract and approves vehicle sales

At its Sept. 11 meeting the Board ratified a series of routine personnel and procurement actions.
Appointments: The Board ratified the appointment of David Grady as Finance Director; Vincent Lanni as a full‑time firefighter/EMT; and Kevin Skymba and Michael Cofalka as part‑time firefighter/EMTs. The Board also ratified the appointment of Officer Trujillo and Officer Fifer to the police department. Each appointment was moved, seconded and passed unanimously.
Procurement and asset actions: Supervisors approved the sale of two township dump trucks (Truck #322, a 2012 Ford F‑550, and Truck #302, a 2009 Ford F‑750) and a 2018 Dodge Charger (unit 42‑19) on the municipal auction site Municibid. The Board awarded the 2024/2025 diesel and heating oil bid to Rhodes Energy. The Board also voted to reject all bids for the Route 401 Traffic Signal Project and authorized re‑advertisement after staff determined incorrect information was provided at the first bid opening; all motions passed unanimously.
Consent agenda: The Board approved meeting minutes from Aug. 14, 2024; ratified payment of bills for August in the amount of $512,595.28; accepted the July 31, 2024 treasurer's report; and ratified contracting with Dandelions for software at $5,300 with a noted $442 monthly increase over the quote.
The Board recorded all above motions as unanimous except for the counsel hire and ZHB opposition votes related to 370 Lancaster Ave., which were recorded separately.
