Council names DDA and planning commissioners, accepts committee resignation
Summary
Three Oaks council appointed Jodie Haughey to the Downtown Development Authority, appointed Colleen Newquist to the Planning Commission, accepted Tom Flint's resignation from the Public Service Committee and appointed Sherry Trucks to fill the vacancy.
At the Jan. 14 meeting, the Three Oaks Village Council approved several personnel and committee changes.
Village President Graziano moved and the council approved the appointment of Jodie Haughey to the Downtown Development Authority. The motion passed 6–1 with Councilmember Niemzyk recording the sole vote against the appointment.
The council also appointed Colleen Newquist to the Planning Commission following a motion by Councilmember Jones and support from Hinman; Councilmember Thomas voted no on that appointment. The minutes record the votes by name.
The council accepted the resignation of Public Service Committee member Tom Flint; the acceptance motion carried unanimously. Graziano then moved, and the council appointed Sherry Trucks to the Public Service Committee; that appointment passed unanimously.
Committee reports following appointments noted that the Planning Committee is working to incorporate survey results into the Master Plan and that the DDA is considering a parking study. The Public Service Committee appointed Judy Mondello as chair and Dave Lockhart as vice chair; Lockhart will assist staff with employee-benefits research.
