At its Oct. 6 meeting the Buford City Commission approved a series of procurement, transfer and payment actions supporting ongoing capital projects.
The commission authorized transfer of parcels 7-293-102 and 7-295B-128 to the Downtown Development Authority and approved the low bid for the 2025 annual contract for construction and renewal of the City of Buford natural gas services. It also authorized a quitclaim abandoning rights-of-way and dedicating the right-of-way equally to adjoining property owners.
Among project payments approved were Invoice #18137-43 for $36,609.67 to Breaux & Associates for the new Buford City Stadium project; payment #34 in the amount of $5,025,895.00 to Charles Black Construction Co., Inc. for the stadium; change order #3 and payment #4 in the amount of $173,566.35 to Backbone Infrastructure, LLC for the New Street Roundabout project; payments to JDS, Inc. and others for Southside Sewer Phase III, S. Waterworks Road at Buford Dam sewer project, Moreno Street LCI project, Buford City Cemetery project, and Tom Riden track resurface work. All items were approved; the recorded release of pledged funds with Peoples Bank & Trust passed with two yes votes and one abstention (Chairman Phillip Beard abstained).
The approvals move multiple capital projects forward and authorize scheduled contractor draws and consultant payments as recorded in the minutes.
