Ulster County approves wide consent slate, schedules special session for 2026 budget vote

At its Nov. 18 meeting the Ulster County Legislature adopted a substantial consent slate of resolutions, approving multiple contracts, contract amendments and local-law actions.
Notable consent actions recorded in the meeting minutes include contract approvals and amendments for service providers (Family Of Woodstock contracts totaling up to $2.4 million in one item; multiple contract amendments for Gateway Community Industries and other social-service providers), Department of Public Works contracts and a variety of professional services and information-technology contracts. The Legislature also adopted Local Law No. 11 of 2025, which amends county code to increase the income range for partial county tax exemptions available to eligible senior landowners.
Most consent items passed unanimously where recorded; the official minutes note absentees and occasional single abstentions (for example, an abstention by Legislator Litts on Resolution No. 538 was recorded). The meeting record also shows the Legislature postponed or withdrew a number of items and defeated a few (defeats included Resolutions 466–468 in committee, and some items were withdrawn by sponsors).
The meeting included a presentation by Dave Lucas of the New York State Association of Counties on federal budget cuts and their implications for counties, a Pride of Ulster County award honoring Jean LeRose of Helping Hands Food Pantry, and a public-comment period that drew 24 registered speakers on multiple agenda items.
