The Commission on Local Government approved its draft agenda and the minutes of the May 13 regular meeting following motions that passed July 8. R. Michael Amyx moved to approve the agenda and Rosemary M. Mahan seconded; Mahan moved to approve the minutes and Amyx seconded.
Cody Anderson, promoted to Policy Analyst, read the public comments and reported that no comments had been submitted in advance, formally closing the public comment period. David Conmy described the hybrid approach staff used to provide virtual public access while the Commission and staff met in person and announced recent personnel actions: the promotion of Cody Anderson to Policy Analyst and the hiring of Grace Wheaton and Legrand Northcutt as Senior Policy Analysts. Conmy also noted that Kimble Reynolds’ term on the Commission concluded at the end of 2020 and staff is monitoring that vacant position.
Anderson told members that the Commission’s next regular meetings are scheduled for Sept. 9 and Nov. 4. He also listed upcoming conferences of interest: the Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference (Oct. 3–5), the Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference (Nov. 10–12) and the Virginia Association of Counties Annual Conference (Nov. 14–16). After a duly made motion, the Commission adjourned.
