Council discusses road maintenance, equipment budget and local initiatives

Councilman Toolson reported that in an earlier workshop the council met with Mid-Valley Fire District Chief Jenkins about Mountain Estates and discussed a bitcoin mining proposal affecting commercial properties. Toolson also said the Travel & Tourism grant the town received was successful and that the Travel & Tourism Board is planning events for the town's 20th birthday.
Councilman Merrill announced a wildlife education meeting scheduled for May 15 and said the Roads Advisory Board has an opening. Councilman Ellis said the Natural Resources Board (NRB) is working to keep snowmobiles off trails. Mayor Rok added that the council will add a monthly work session beginning March 26 and that town staff are developing a community volunteer award.
