Town Administrator Aitken gave the council an infrastructure update at the March 26 work session, reporting that a wing wall for the Middle Branch bridge is scheduled to be placed on Wednesday and that the contractor plans to finish work on the Hardman bridge by April.
Public Works staff raised concerns about plowing on the bridge approaches while those areas remain at road-base grade and are not yet paved, warning that winter operations could damage unfinished surfaces. Aitken also reported that Green Canyon Drive is in poor condition because melting snow has created running water and prevented immediate repairs.
The council learned that a previously discussed bitcoin developer has withdrawn his proposal for a commercial property; no further details were provided. Aitken said staff will present several project proposals for inclusion in the FY2025–26 budget.
Next steps: Staff will continue to oversee bridge construction timelines and bring proposed budget projects forward for council consideration before the first reading of the FY2025–26 budget.
