Castle Dale meeting approves business licenses, tables dog park and schedules short-term rental hearing

At a June 25 meeting, the Castle Dale panel approved multiple business licenses (including Bridgeway Project Services, Boe Taylor and an amendment for Ryan Ware), tabled a resident’s dog park proposal and set a public hearing next month to consider changes to the short-term rental ordinance.

Jeanette moved to approve the May 2026 minutes with a date change; Kerry seconded and a roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval. The panel then approved a home-office business license for Bridgeway Project Services following Kerry’s motion and DeLynn’s second. Later, members approved a food-service license for Boe Taylor contingent on a signature from the health department after Kerry’s motion and Candy’s second.
Ryan Ware, participating virtually, asked to sell nonalcoholic beverages outside his store and at pop-up events. After Kerry asked how IDs would be checked and Ware said he would verify IDs, DeLynn moved to amend Ware’s license to include nonalcoholic outdoor sales; Candy seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
A dog-park proposal from new resident Rob Record—who identified potential sites between the recreation center and a dentist office and near the skate park—was discussed. Kerry asked staff to review other municipal ordinances on dog parks and moved to table the proposal until next month; Jeanette seconded and the motion passed.
Kerry briefly discussed the Valley View PUD, noting Lot 7 may fall short of the rear setback and that repeated variances could require Board of Adjustments review; she said she will pursue next steps. Kerry also noted a proposed road map has been addressed and that Barbara is aware of road matters. Glen raised complaints about a rooster involving Brad Giles; Kerry said she would review relevant ordinances.
The meeting ended on a unanimous motion to adjourn.
