The Planning Commission on March 5 tabled three related applications to build a Taco Bell at 105 West Allegheny Road, citing outstanding technical details and requests for supporting analyses.
Christian Kalischefski of the WT Group presented a PowerPoint overview of the project—landscaping, photometrics, lighting, building layout and parking—and asked the board to consider a reduction in mandatory parking, noting that "approximately 70% of the business is conducted through the drive-thru window." Township Engineer John Valinsky said a parking analysis can be submitted to substantiate any request for fewer spaces. Board members also sought clarification on lighting, the proposed street wall and the pedestrian pocket. Kalischefski said there would be no outdoor dining and that a ground-lease plan will be submitted shortly.
After discussion, the commission voted to table Applications 2026-5-CU (restaurant conditional use), 2026-6-CU (drive-thru conditional use) and 2026-7-SP (Taco Bell minor land development). The motion was made by Fred Lutz, seconded by Kevin Cody, and carried 5-0. Applicant and staff agreed to meet March 12 to review comments.
Next steps: applicant to file a parking analysis, submit required lighting/photometrics and pedestrian-pocket/site details, and provide the ground-lease plan for staff review before the commission takes further action.
