At the May 18 meeting Hillard Boskey introduced the town's 2005 noise bylaw and opened a discussion about enforcement and community complaints.
Board members noted the complexity of noise complaints and the involvement of multiple town departments. Laurance Venezia, DVM, raised particular concerns about motorcycle noise levels and the difficulty of enforcing a ban. Dr. Contos summarized recent research on noise pollution and said he would follow up with Assistant Health Director Barry Lewis about potential actions the Board of Health could pursue.
No formal action was taken; the matter will be further evaluated by staff and discussed at a future meeting if warranted.
