REPC notes EMPG FFY2025 NOFO, deadlines and upcoming trainings

Justin Shrair announced that the Notice of Funding Opportunity for the FFY2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant has been released. He told committee members that applications are due June 1, 2026; funds awarded under the grant must be expended by June 30, 2027 with no extensions; and closeout documents must be submitted by August 16, 2027 to be reimbursed.
Shrair said applicant briefings will be held April 7, 10, 15 and 16 to review requirements and answer questions, and that the FEMA AEL list previously used to determine eligibility is no longer in use under this NOFO. He noted that joint applications remain an option but carry additional requirements and encouraged questions to be sent to EM.Grants@mass.gov.
Separately, Michael Cassidy announced a 90-minute training on responding to and investigating bomb threats and swatting hoaxes offered by the FBI Boston and the Massachusetts State Police on April 15 with sessions at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and said registration information would be circulated with the meeting minutes.
The meeting calendar item closed with a reminder that the next quarterly MetroWest REPC meeting is scheduled for July 2 at 10 a.m. in Natick and with a request to consider inviting a Mass. Maritime representative about cadet support for local officials.
