West Whiteland posts clean 2024 audit; auditors flag ARPA single-audit after $1.275 million in federal funds spent

Maillie LLP partner Chris Herr told the Board on Jan. 28 that the Township’s 2024 financial audit received an unmodified — or clean — opinion, meaning auditors found no material misstatements and the financial statements conform with GAAP and GASB standards. A Major Federal Award Programs Audit was also conducted because the Township spent $1,275,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds during 2024.
Herr said Township staff provided all documents requested by the auditors. The clean opinion covers both the general-purpose financial statements and the federal awards audit tied to ARPA spending. No material findings were presented at the meeting.
Board members did not ask follow-up questions during the presentation. The audit will be included in the Township’s public records and posted with other meeting materials.
Next steps: the audit report will remain part of the public record and is available through Township staff and the meeting packet.
