Park Board reports $8,000 in tournament sponsorships, reappoints members and plans outreach booth

At its July 18 meeting the Park Board adopted the agenda and approved minutes from May 16, 2024, then moved through a series of routine items including reappointments of several board members and outreach plans.
Park Board member Crystal Powers moved to adopt the agenda; Park Board member Tammy Frost seconded and the agenda was adopted as recorded in the minutes. Powers also moved to approve the May 16 minutes; Frost seconded. The minutes record that the motion to approve passed and that Alderman Chris Davis was recorded as abstaining.
On a separate motion, Park Board member Hugh Nichols moved to retain Billy Ray Dorris, Chris Davis and Tammy Frost on the Park Board; Park Board member Lisa Perry seconded and the motion was recorded as passing, with two members listed as abstaining in the minutes (Alderman Chris Davis and Park Board member Lisa Perry).
The board reported results from the AAA State Baseball Tournament (July 5–9, 2024): $8,000 in donations and sponsorships and attendance of more than 1,000 people. Members also discussed outreach at Experience Robertson County on Sept. 14, 2024, where Brier Park Partners will staff a booth to hand out event flyers.
Jennifer Woodard moved to adjourn at 6:46 p.m.; Tammy Frost seconded and the motion passed.
