Bike Brighton schedules Full Moon rides, Bike to Work Day and safety classes

The City of Brighton Bike Brighton Sub-Committee on March 5, 2026, approved an amended agenda that adds a June 24 date for Bike to Work Day and set a series of spring events, including Full Moon rides and a bike safety class.

The committee voted 7-0 to adopt the agenda amendment after a motion by Committee member David McWilliams, seconded by Mark Humbert. It also approved the February 19, 2026 minutes by the same 7-0 tally. The meeting adjourned at 6:28 P.M. following a 7-0 vote to adjourn.

Committee members selected routes for the Bike Brighton Full Moon Bike Rides and assigned staff tasks: Amanda Aburto, the lone staff member recorded as present, will deliver the finalized routes to the city's GIS office so they appear on the City of Brighton website and will work with the public information officer to post the schedule on the city calendar. The committee designated the June 30 Full Moon Bike Ride as a 'Move with the Mayor' event; the transcript records the mayor will join that ride but does not provide the mayor’s name.

Ride of Silence planning remains incomplete: Amanda Aburto reported she is awaiting route clarification from the Police Department before that event can be finalized. For outreach and volunteer appreciation, the committee scheduled a March 31 “Thank You Day” to distribute burritos to participating groups; Joey Arp and Kathy Vickery volunteered to assist and Amanda will pick up food and collect department counts.

The committee confirmed its recurring meetings will move to the second Wednesday of each month and set the next meeting for Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
